New Romantic, Notting Hill, 1981

Apple Juice and Vodka. The browns and beiges amid the mess of a student kitchen somewhere off Notting Hill Gate in the early-80’s. Lucy pours the drinks. I don’t know where the little russet feather came from, but it somehow transforms her New Romanticism into something very different. I was 18. West London was my home.
